Hitachi's new model is one of the latest entries in the growing class of interactive projectors, which can detect touch on any surface using infrared sensors and a stylus pen without requiring the additional hardware of a traditional interactive whiteboard. The ultra-short-throw unit projects at 2,500 lumens of brightness and XGA resolution, includes an HDMI input, and is bundled with Hitachi's StarBoard teaching and lesson-building software.
